Privacy Policy — Green Monitor

Overview

Green Monitor analyzes photos entirely on your device. We do not upload your photos or measurement results to our servers.

What we collect

• Account: Google Sign-In via Firebase Authentication. We receive your Firebase UID and, if available, your Google account email and display name(profile name) for in-app identification.
• Single-device enforcement: a random, app-scoped device ID (stored in SharedPreferences) and heartbeat timestamps stored in your user record in Firebase Cloud Firestore (fields like active_device_id and last_seen). This lets one account be active on only one device at a time.
• Purchase status: subscription metadata via RevenueCat/Google Play (e.g., trial eligibility, active entitlement, renewal/cancellation state). We never receive your full payment details.

What stays on your device

• Photos you capture or pick, and the analysis/overlays. These remain local unless you choose to export or save them.
• We do not collect your photos or analysis results. They remain on your device unless you explicitly export them. Because we don’t collect this content, we cannot and do not use it for model training or analytics.
• App settings such as the green-threshold preference and calibration points.
• Saved images written to your gallery, and CSV files only when you choose to email/export.

Permissions we request & why

• Camera: to capture plant photos.
• Photos/Media/Storage: to pick photos from your gallery and to save analyzed images/exports. On older Android versions we may ask for legacy storage permission.
• Internet: to sign in with Google, validate subscription status with RevenueCat/Google Play, and enforce single-device access.
• Optional email intent: only when you tap “Email CSV”; we open your mail app with your file attached. We do not read your emails.

How we use your data

• To authenticate you with Google (Firebase Authentication).
• To enforce one active device per account (Firestore record with active_device_id and last_seen).
• To provide and validate subscriptions and free trials (RevenueCat + Google Play).
• We do not sell your data.

Data security & retention

All network traffic is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Firestore stores only minimal account and device fields linked to your Firebase UID. We retain these while your account or subscription remains active. You can request deletion of your Firestore record; deletion removes stored device and entitlement metadata (it does not delete files on your device).

Third-party processors

• Firebase (Google) — Authentication and Cloud Firestore (account/device metadata).
• RevenueCat — Subscription management integrated with Google Play Billing.

Your choices

• You can sign out at any time from “Account & Subscription”.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in Google Play.
• You may request deletion of your Firestore record (account/device/subscription metadata).
