About Plant Monitor
Hi, I'm Michele Grieco — Plant Biologist, CEA Consultant, and Creator of Plant Monitor apps.
I’m a plant biologist with deep expertise in photosynthesis and plant phenotyping. Over the years, I’ve worked in both academic research and in industry, as part of the R&D team at Infarm, a leading company in indoor vertical farming.
Today, I work as a consultant for Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA), helping clients optimize plant growth through better lighting strategies, climate control, and data-driven decisions.
But my mission goes beyond consulting.
I believe that advanced plant science should be accessible and practical. That’s why I started Plant Monitor:
To create simple, affordable apps that turn a smartphone into a plant monitoring tool.
To share insights through my Blog, where I translate complex scientific studies into clear, actionable strategies for greenhouse and vertical farm operators.
The first app in the Plant Monitor series is Green Monitor, which can automatically measure green coverage, and plant height and width, directly from your phone.
