About Me

Hi, I'm Michele Grieco — Plant Biologist, CEA Consultant, and Founder of Plant Monitor.

I’m a plant biologist with deep expertise in photosynthesis and plant phenotyping. Over the years, I’ve worked in both academic research and in industry, as part of the R&D team at Infarm, a leading company in indoor vertical farming.

Today, I work as a consultant for Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA), helping clients optimize plant growth through better lighting, climate control, and data-driven decisions.

But my mission goes further.

I believe that everyone — from commercial growers to researchers to passionate home gardeners — should have access to tools for monitoring their plants. That’s why I started Plant Monitor.

My goal is to use everything I know — plant science, monitoring techniques, data analysis, and coding — to turn your smartphone into a powerful and affordable tool for plant monitoring.

I’m currently focused on building simple, smart apps that make monitoring easy and scalable. The first of these is Green Monitor, designed to measure green area, height, and growth trends from your phone.

More tools are coming soon.
